Excellent little bluetooth adapter. It has a small blue light that keeps blinking at all times, except when the computer is in hibernation or turned off. I had no problem installing or using it in my laptop with Windows Vista. The diminutive size is amazing, it only protrudes by about 1/4 inch out of its USB port. That is a minor minus, as I can imagine a situation like when I want to watch a movie where I would want the little light to go off. But the light is not strong enough to be actually annoying -- and my HP laptop has other lights that won't go off no matter what as well -- so I'd recommend a buy.
This USB Bluetooth adapater is hand downs a great product. No problems with it, gets great range for it's intended for, supports A2DP, AVRDP, etc. The blue, blinking led light can be annoying but you can just move it or put some black electrical tape for it, no biggie.Bottom line, great product.
I plugged this into my Dell Vostro 220 and Vista picked it up immediately and installed the drivers automatically. Got my BT mouse to work flawlessly in just a few minutes.
Looks like a little blemish on the side of my desk, does not get in the way.Only trouble I have found is needs to be reinstalled if you change usb ports. No synching problems either device. I have been using this adapter on my home desktop pc to listen to music through either my bt headphones or bt receiver for my stereo, and both work great. Not a big deal install is quick, just a pain in the butt. Great range for headphones. I did install an extension wire to get the adapter out from under my desk. Doesn't seem to be effected by restart, just moving usb ports.I'm getting a new netbook and hoping this will work well with that. Will be buying a second one if so.
This little gem works terrifically. Hooray.Mine works from across the room which is all I need.
It is physically small enough that there is really no reason to ever remove it from your USB port, as it protrudes so slightly I would say that there is no danger of damaging the port by jarring the dongle. This unit installed onto my Vista notebook effortlessly (but DO remember to reboot after plugging the unit in) and works as advertised.
It then snappily acquired my HP470wbt printer, thereby freeing up a USB port and eliminating the need for a USB cable when traveling to court with it. Physically, the unit is pretty much perfect.
It immediately acquired my Kensington USB mouse. I do not know if a wi-fi device would have greater range or not, nor do I care.
With inexpensive Bluetooth adaptors like this one available, there is no reason for anyone with a USB-equipped computer to go without Bluetooth.Highly recommended.
